Why We’re Skipping the Black Friday Madness (And Embracing What Really Matters)

As a small business owner, I’ve come to appreciate just how important Black Friday can be for our growth and survival. It’s a chance for businesses like ours to offer big discounts and connect with new customers. But this year, as we approach Thanksgiving, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.

You see, as someone born in Kenya, Thanksgiving has always felt like one of the best gifts I’ve received from America. It’s a time to be thankful, spend time with family, and enjoy some good food—things that matter most to me. And when I looked at the calendar, I realized that all the Black Friday rush was robbing us away from exactly that—the opportunity to be present with those we love.

So, we decided to do things a little differently this year. Instead of jumping into the Black Friday frenzy, we’re moving our sale up by a week, giving you all the time you need to grab amazing discounts without sacrificing precious time with your family. This isn’t a gimmick—it’s simply our way of reclaiming Thanksgiving for what it truly means: family, food, and making memories (and maybe decorating the tree with the kiddos 🎄).

As a brand that is all about intentional self-care, embracing moments of calm, and truly soaking in life’s special moments - it was important to us to spend the time on what truly matters. Whether it’s a quiet moment with family or creating new traditions, we believe the greatest gift we can give ourselves is the permission to be fully present.

So, while Black Friday might be calling, we’re choosing to slow down and enjoy the simple joys of the season. Our sale will still be here, just a little earlier than usual, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds: amazing deals and quality time with loved ones.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving full of warmth, gratitude, and connection. Let’s cherish the moments that truly matter.

With appreciation,

Elizabeth
